School Readiness Program

School Readiness Program provides financial support to for early care and education to families. The goal of this financial assistance is to encourage and help families become financially self-sufficient so that their children can succeed. Parents are provided with information on child development as well as opportunities for parent involvement that incorporate parents as their child’s first teacher. Childcare services include day, year, and school-age care to help parents become financially self-sufficient. Each school readiness program offers a developmental assessment of children and referrals to specific health and education specialists if needed.

General Eligibility Requirements

Parent(s) or guardian(s) must be working or participating in an educational activity at least 20 hours per week. Gross income must be at or below 150% of the federal poverty level for family size
 
Families must pay a co-payment for child care based on income and family size. There may also be additional fees billable by the child care provider chosen.
 
– Preliminary documentation is required before application will be validated
  • Income verification form (new job or paid by cash)
  • Pay stubs (last 4 weekly pay stubs, last 2 pay stubs if paid bi-weekly or semi-monthly, or last pay stub if paid monthly)
  • Self employment documentation (most recent tax return or YTD  business records with invoices and receipts for expenses)
  • Education documentation (enrollment verification and schedule or ELC education/training form)
  • Social security disability documentation statement from physician and SS award letter
